THE SYSTEM – For Pre-operative Planning with 3D models

Glen3wiz is a high precision system for precise placement of the central pin of the glenoid component in shoulder arthroplasty. It has two primary components, of which the first one is a CT based, surgeon driven, 3D planning system. The second one is an image-derived, re-usable, modular, yet, patient-specific instrumentation system.

The CT scan is uploaded from the scan centre directly to the server. It is then interpreted and processed with the help of our AI and machine learning algorithms. The scan data is sent back to the surgeon in the form of a custom, virtual 3D bone model. The surgeon can work on the model remotely using any laptop with a basic internet connection.

THE JIG – Modular Instruments

For the execution, we have a simple yet intuitive jig to help align the glenoid ring in the desired position. There is a central sleeve for guiding the central pin and a long ergonomic handle to hold the glenoid ring against the surface of the glenoid. The sizes of the augments in the fixed positions of 12 o’clock, three o’clock, six o’clock and nine o’clock determine the ring placement and the subsequent placement of the central guide pin. The modular and reusable image derived instrumentation, helps reduce the OT time saving cost and resources while limiting the surgeon’s exposure in this post-covid era.
